Push-In & Snap-On Capping Heads

Zalkin push-in and snap-on capping heads are capable of applying a wide range of closures at speeds up to 1,350 cpm (81,000 cph).

Push-in and snap-on capping heads are compatible with rotary monobloc, rotary freestanding and single-head cappers and like all Zalkin heads offer fast, tool-less changeover.

Push-in capping heads are ideal for closures that have features that must be inserted into the container and then applied by top load force to secure the cap in position including:

  • T-corks
  • Stoppers
  • Dosing Caps
  • Overcaps
  • Spouts

Snap-on capping heads are ideal for caps that rely on friction fits to effectively close the container including:

  • Irregular geometry snap-on caps
  • Lids

Zalkin offers two different styles of capping heads for closures that must be pushed-into or snapped-onto a container:

  • Mechanical
  • Vacuum

Mechanical heads use jaws to grip and control the closure during the application process. They are designed for both push-in and snap-on applications.

Vacuum heads use chucks with vacuum suction to grip and control the closure during the application process. They are also designed for both push-in and snap-on applications.

Both types of heads use adjustable and accurate top load spring systems to consistently apply the required top force for cap application.

Mechanical heads are most commonly used for straight side closures that can be easily gripped by jaws.

Vacuum heads are specifically designed for closures that cannot be picked-up and controlled by the edges. This includes tapered caps, asymmetrical caps and caps that require low friction handling.
